Describe what you can do
Say whether you can control the kite, recover the board, water start, ride both ways and return to the starting area. A course taken years ago gives context but does not define current ability. An introduction builds foundations; a progression course provides continuity; a refresher addresses an identified gap.
Understand private instruction
Ask whether instructor and equipment are dedicated to you, how briefing and practice are organised and when breaks happen. Individual feedback can support a focused goal, but every minute is not necessarily water time. The commercial label alone does not explain the teaching format.
Understand shared instruction
Check how many students, kites and instructors participate. Does the advertised duration refer to the whole block or each student’s practice? A couple with different skills may need different exercises. Alternating observation and practice can be useful, but should be clear before comparing the price with a private lesson.
Compare equivalent services
Rental supplies equipment under agreed conditions; it is not a lesson or continuous technical supervision. If you depend on instructions to stop or return, request assessment and teaching. Compare goal, duration, ratio, equipment, language, location and unused-hour policy. The course catalogue holds the commercial options; this guide helps you evaluate their fit.
