Three different things
Centre accreditation concerns an organisation; an instructor credential belongs to a person; a student record describes training or skills. Do not treat a logo in a website footer as proof of all three at once.
Ask about the person teaching
If you want a certified instructor, request their name and how to check the credential with its issuer. Their teaching language and role during your session matter too. A qualification alone does not tell you how many students they will teach simultaneously.
Connect training with the service
For an introduction, confirm who leads the exercises and who provides assistance. For foil or progression, ask about the specific instruction offered. IKO’s public course information explains different levels and roles; it does not automatically validate every commercial claim.
Your record at the end
Ask for observed skills and unfinished work to be documented. If student certification is offered, clarify requirements, issuance and any additional fee. Paying for a number of hours does not confer independence without practical assessment. Keep that distinction when continuing at another school.
