KITE CARTAGENA · LA BOQUILLA

What to record after every kitesurf lesson

Keep a simple learning record that communicates more than the number of hours completed.

Record skills as well as time

Write the date, location and exercises covered. Add whether you needed continuous help, reminders or could perform consistently. Sessions of equal length can produce very different outcomes; your record should show that difference without overstating your level.

A five-field note

Use five lines: daily goal, observed task, help received, main difficulty and proposed next step. Add equipment details if known. Do not estimate weather figures nobody measured: leaving that field empty is better.

An example of a useful entry

“Practised starts in both directions; needed continuous instructions to the right; still need work on finishing the run” says more than “intermediate”. Ask the instructor to confirm your interpretation, especially before showing it to a rental operator or another school.

Use it for your next booking

Share the note before purchasing another package. It can guide an initial assessment and avoid unnecessary repeated explanations, although it cannot replace observation. Keep track of what was not practised too: completing a course does not automatically establish every skill.
