Do not book or cancel from a rain icon alone. A session should proceed only when the responsible person confirms suitable wind, visibility, sea state and no electrical activity affecting the plan. With lightning or a nearby storm, leave the water and move away from the equipment.
Rain is not one condition
A short shower with stable wind differs from a cell that changes direction and strength. Review the development rather than only a daily percentage. A regional forecast also cannot describe every condition at the precise practice area.
Signals that change the plan
Thunder, lightning, rapidly developing clouds, reduced visibility or unusual gusts require a conservative decision. Do not try to gain extra minutes or handle lines in an exposed area while a storm approaches.
What to ask before leaving
Confirm who makes the weather decision, when the update will arrive and how postponed time is recorded. Keep an independent land-based alternative. A clear policy prevents weather uncertainty from becoming a dispute about a promise of wind.
