Pack for the service you booked
Separate personal beach items, technical gear and travel confirmations. If a lesson includes equipment, confirm the actual contents before paying to fly your own. Photograph your gear and record model, size and condition. Bring secure swimwear, sun protection, water, towel and dry clothes, with a plan for drying items between sessions.
Check every operating airline
Sports-baggage conditions vary by fare, carrier and segment. Measure the packed bag including wheels and protection, and weigh it with all accessories. Ask the operating airline about registration and keep the response. Calling a kite bag a golf bag does not legitimately change the applicable baggage rules.
Protect and identify the contents
Follow the manufacturer’s packing instructions. Keep rigid parts from pressing against fabric and secure loose items. Tools, adhesives and batteries may have transport restrictions; check the carrier and airport authority before packing them. Arrange an airport transfer with enough space for your actual bag dimensions.
At delivery and collection
Keep the baggage receipt and photograph the exterior when handing it over. Inspect visible damage at collection and follow the airline’s reporting process. A travel repair kit should contain compatible, identifiable parts you know how to use; it does not replace diagnosis of structural or line damage. Access to the model manual can be more useful than assorted adhesives.
