Use the correct manual
Kite, bar, lines, board and harness may have different cleaning instructions. Identify the model before applying products or routines. Advice for one bar is not a universal rule for the whole set. Preventive maintenance does not restore an already damaged safety component.
Manage sand and moisture
Avoid dragging equipment on abrasive surfaces and remove sand without rubbing it into fabric. Dry according to the manual without unnecessary sun exposure. If you must transport wet gear, reopen it on arrival. A closed bag in a hot vehicle is not a drying arrangement.
Inspect before packing
Look for abrasion, cuts, knots and changes at connections and contact points. Suspected line-length differences or unusual control behaviour need the model-specific procedure, not improvised knots. Store equipment dry and protected from excessive heat, direct light and hard edges; check it again after a long storage period.
Keep a record and stop when needed
Record model, incidents, maintenance and repairs. Photographs can help track wear but cannot certify serviceability. Report relevant history when lending or handing over equipment. Pressure loss, open seams, cuts and doubts about a release system require technical assessment: cleaning and drying cannot solve those failures.
