More equipment below the board
A foil includes a mast and surfaces extending underwater. Usable depth depends on the setup and activity. A beach used for another sport cannot be assumed suitable without a specific assessment.
The area can change
Water conditions, obstacles and people moving through the area must be considered at the time. A photograph or old map cannot verify the day’s situation. Ask the instructor to explain the chosen area’s limits during the briefing.
Avoid a universal depth figure
Mast length alone does not resolve every space decision. Do not interpret an online measurement as permission to practise wherever the water appears deeper. Assessment must include equipment, ability and the planned exercise.
What to ask when booking
Mention your own equipment and its configuration if you intend to bring it. Confirm whether the session may move location or time and how that is communicated. If the available area cannot support the plan, agree on the alternative before entering the water.
