Describe each participant
Give the child’s age, water experience, comfort following instructions and responsible adult’s details. The school must assess the proposed activity and suitable equipment availability. An age listed on another website does not establish this operator’s criteria or confirm that a group format is appropriate.
Clarify the accompanying adult’s role
Ask where the responsible adult should stay, how breaks are communicated and what happens if the child wants to stop. Several adults giving instructions simultaneously can confuse an exercise. Technical communication should be clearly coordinated with the instructor.
Plan for the rest of the family
Those waiting also need shade, water, transport and a place outside the line area. If several children travel together, do not assume one child’s lesson includes supervision of the others. Allocate that responsibility explicitly before booking.
Define a good first experience
The goal might be understanding a signal and completing an adapted activity, rather than riding on day one. Ask how duration responds to attention and tiredness. Keep the participation conditions and understand the recommended format before buying a long package for a child.
