Work backwards from the return deadline
Start with the time you must be back, rather than the advertised lesson duration. Subtract disembarkation or arrival time, both transfers and a buffer you can realistically keep. Several hours in the city can leave much less usable time on the beach.
Share your limits in the first message
Send your starting point, expected arrival and latest departure time from the school. Ask whether a reasonable format fits that interval. Do not book a promise of wind at a fixed time: the operator should explain what happens if your only window has unsuitable conditions.
Avoid a tightly chained itinerary
Transfers, preparation, exercises and changing clothes all need coordination. If you also want a city visit, set priorities. A small delay can make the activity impractical when returning to a ship or airport cannot be postponed.
Know the alternative before paying
Clarify cancellation, rescheduling or the applicable solution if you cannot return another day. If the offer relies on an excessively tight schedule, a more flexible activity may fit better. Choosing for compatibility with your itinerary is different from comparing only price and duration.
